So your post has the potential to go miles with it. But it just isn’t getting any likes! How can you be sure of whether any of your friends saw it or not? That’s where the call to action scheme works and increases your reach spontaneously, ensuring it reaches the right people and gains its well-deserved likes. Framing posts to grab the attention of your fans is not sufficient on its own except you include a call to action. Call to action is a great way to drive likes, comments, and shares. Some tactful ways to ensure that fans interact with your content include:

  • Use of statistics to make your point
  • Provide the benefits of clicking the link
  • Ask questions
  • Help your fans to unravel something new

You might quickly wonder, how often should I post on my social media page? Too often like that dude who irritates his fans with too many posts and frequent status updates about what he is eating, thinking or feeling?
Some of us dread the thought of overwhelming fans with content and others fear no signs of any engagement on a shared post that we thought was pretty cool.

Visit your Facebook insight, for instance, to see when your fans are usually active online. The times most of your fans were online and very active in the past week will be shown to you. You can thereafter test each of the time slots around the highly popular times to see the one that works best for your page. Studies suggest more posts are being posted on Sundays(no wonder!) and the numbers are quite high on Fridays and Saturdays

Ignoring comments

Let’s say your post went viral, but doing a poor job of keeping up with the commenters is bad for your reputation. When your post is shared, you can come in and send a ‘thank you’ for the share in the comment section. If a question is asked by a user, you must try to respond to the question within a reasonable time. If a suggestion is offered, consider the suggestion and inform them about it.

Social media engagement is not a one-way interaction, although it appears like that. Whenever your posts are liked by a user, they are showing interest. You can inturn visit their profile and check if you enjoy any of their own posts too and hit the like button.

If the comments are negative, you have to take your time to apologize and contact the commenter in order to make things right. You may not be able to always make things right but your effort will be made public and this will show to others that your company really tried. If the comments are spam, they should be moderated immediately or deleted.

Accidental Privacy: controlling your private settings

Some of us would prefer to silently lurk on social media sites without being active all the time or simply because we think we aren’t cool enough, others make a mistake of turning their profiles inaccessible by the public. Although it is a simple mistake, it becomes an issue when one accidentally changes the settings. If your account is made private when filling the information to bring your profile into the public eye. A private profile means that users will need to make a request for your approval to view your posts and many users will not be willing to play along with it.
